It was fairly easy to pack up this morning since most of it was done yesterday. After breakfast, we loaded up the car and headed for Hollywood, since it was close to the airport.
We took the kids trough the Hollywood Wax Museum. This was something the they wanted to do during our last trip to Hollywood, but we didn't have time.
It wasn’t worth the money, in our opinion. It was ok but there was a large section of it devoted to horror films. Had we known that, we probably would not have gone. We just quickly walked through that section. It was neat to see how tall, or not, some actors really are. I was surprised at how tall Lucille Ball was, and Drew Barrymore.

Ahhhhhhh......
Hollywood Blvd. was crawling with a bunch of people dressed in characters. We saw Spongebob, Darth Vader, Spiderman, Tinkerbell, Shrek, and many others. Around the Kodak Theatre, the girls and I went into the restroom and cat-woman was sitting on the countertop removing her costume and talking to herself very loudly! She carried on and on about how she was the most beautiful and continued to throw out the f-word, so I quickly collected my girls and we bolted out of there to find another restroom! That girl had to have been on something.
We took one final stroll up and down Hollywood Blvd. to kill some time before heading to the airport. It was crowded today. Lots of people were out doing the same thing.

The airport was uneventful. People complain about the LAX airport saying they don’t like dealing with it. But our experience was good. Moving through security wasn’t too bad and it was easy to get to our terminal.
Before we boarded the plane (the red eye), Katie said she was going to stay up all night. She didn’t even make it off the runway! The flight took off toward the ocean, so we flew over the Pacific for a few minutes before turning. It was neat to see the outline of the coast. Having only seen it on maps, seeing it from a plane was remarkable. And since it was dark, Los Angeles looked like a sea of lights. Emily asked why some areas were so dark and thought that maybe those areas were water. But, they were actually mountains. Lots of them. That would have been a neat thing to see in the daytime. We were seated in the center of the plane on the way out, so we didn’t get to see the mountains from the air at all.
This was a fantastic trip!
